Orochimaru is back!!
Three kids stand beneath the night sky and a shooting star passes them. Immediately, one of the two girls claps her hands together and bows. The boy asks her what she is doing and she says that if you wish on a star three times it’ll come true. The boy calls her an idiot because the star is in fact just a comet, and the girl is disappointed. The other girl tells Hime not to worry because even though it’s a comet, she is certain that her wish will still come true. Hime becomes excited and the other girl, Izumi, tells her that an acclaimed professor had said so. So then Hime bows her head again and repeats “cake” under her breath. The boy asks her why she doesn’t wish for something bigger, and this makes the other girl wonder what he would wish for. Yuu says that he wants to be on the side of justice and defend the weak. Suddenly, snow starts falling even though it’s summer and the air is still hot.
Twelve years later, a loud explosion sounds on top of a building. A ring of fire surrounds a man and a girl. The man pleads for his life, promising that if she’ll leave he won’t harm her. She does, but he goes to attack her. However, as his invisible attack is weaving its way to her, a shield blocks it. The man is stunned and the girl points a finger downwards at him, and a large transparent foot comes and squashes him. Blood splatters across the girl’s face. The following day, Kusaka Yuu is sleeping in class and his teacher comes to wake him up. With his stick, he hits Yuu on the head and the object snaps in two. At first, the teacher is speechless until Yuu asks him why he had hit him so hard. After class, Hime finds Yuu and lectures him for “using it again”. He warns her to back off and their conversation ends when Hime’s friend, Nori, comes along. Then one of Yuu’s friends come and asks him to do the same favour again. Yuu is reluctant, but his friend soon manages to bribe him. As he is about to head to the science laboratory, he witnesses Sanada and his gang bullying a student. A crowd is soon formed around Sanada and his crew, but no one tries to stop him from hurting the victim. Just as Yuu takes a leave, Sanada pulls out a Stanley knife and request that Yuu show him his powers. He also comments that he’s interested in Yuu’s part-time job. Yuu pretends that he doesn’t know what’s going on and then his friend Kajiwara comes to stop all the commotion. Kajiwara and Yuu walk away and the student runs off given the opportunity. Kajiwara asks Yuu how Hime is doing, and Yuu replies that she’s still not interested in him. Abruptly, the president of Kajiwara’s class yells at him for breaking the school rules and Yuu uses this chance to go do his part-time job, which is also the favour his other friend asked him to do. However, as he is walking, Yuu remembers the student who got bullied. He tells himself that it wasn’t of his concern and that it was none of his business, and then the girl at the start of the episode “12 years later” appears and asks him if that’s really true. Yuu’s about to answer but then his friend comes. Yuu looks back to see the girl but she is gone.
Yuu is in the labortory and he bends a spoon in front of three students. They are not amazed because they believe that they’ve been cheated out of their money. This influences Yuu to do an even better trick. He bends all the spoons on the table without touching one of them. Now the students are really astonished. Then one of the guys there tries to touch the spoon. Then it completely snaps in too and blood drips from the boy’s hand. This reminds Yuu of Izumi leaning against a cherry-blossom tree. His thoughts are interrupted when his friend asks him to do fortune-telling trick. Yuu asks why and his friend says that he wants to impress one of the girls at present. Yuu gets bribed again and when he’s on the brink of doing what his friend asked, Hime suddenly appears and stops the entire show. The pair are walking home together when Sanada’s gang comes up to Yuu and tells him that Sanada wants to see him. Yuu says ok but then runs off with Hime. On their way home, Hime blames him that because he keeps “doing that” they were almost caught in Sanada’s gang. Yuu apologizes and scares her by saying that his special ability can also kill people. Hime is about to cry and says that he shouldn’t joke about things like that, and he apologises again. She tells him to apologize once more, but this time to Izumi, and he suddenly gets another of that same flashback. He says sorry and then Sanada appears. Before Sanada can go further into talking, a man dressed in black comes and says that they should fight. He pulls out a knife and Sanada pulls out the same Stanley knife. He flicks it simply and then the man’s nose falls off. Yuu and Hime are about to run, but Sanada waves his weapon again and the top of Hime’s hockey stick falls off. Sanada then kicks the man and once more with his Stanely knife, stabs the man in the head while he pleads for his life. Sanada is moments away from cutting Yuu’s nose off when the attack gets blocked by the girl from the beginning. At the very end, a woman named Akino tells a man that it’s too dangerous to meet them now. Then the man expresses how he really wants to meet them.
Thoughts: This episode was really enjoyable and I loved it how the man’s nose just suddenly came off. The pictures and animation weren’t all that great, but the storyline was good. I don’t like Yuu because of his hair, and nor do I like Hime because of her voice. Sanada reminds me of Orochimaru from Naruto, which was okay for me since Orochimaru is an awesome evil character. The girl whose name was never mentioned pretty much interests me too. She’s cool and kinda looks like Izumi, but that’s just me and my theory. For some reason, I really like Kajiwara. I guess it’s because he’s the happy-go type sorta guy. So cool~~~! Anyway, it was a good episode overall and I’ll continue watching it, but I’m not sure about blogging it yet.
