Red man is revealed!
Ganta wakes up screaming from a nightmare and comes nose-to-nose with Shiro, who also screams because she thinks he’s mad at her for eating his snacks. Ganta remembers the red man and that his ability is just like his – that the two of them have strips of blood coming out of them like whips. After overhearing a man saying that the red man lives in G Ward, Ganta runs out of the clinic with a confused Shiro in search for the room. Makina orders to unleash the security robot that was locked away long ago since it had killed a lot of people, in order to detain Ganta. Tamaki offers more Cast Point cards to You to continue looking out for Ganta, but You shows annoyance to the idea, not wanting to keep watch over Ganta due to the belief that he is a monster. Through speakers a voice demands that Ganta turn himself in. He continues running forward but gets stopped by a large metal door that appears out of nowhere. You comes and explains that the highest level of security is taking place. He suggests that Ganta turn himself in, wishing that he would just do as they say in order to not drag You into any more harm. Ganta tells You that the red man killed all of his friends and right now he’s resting in G Ward. You is surprised because there is no such thing as a G Ward, which he also tells Ganta. Ganta can’t believe it but Shiro tells him that she can take them there, but refuses to do so. Ganta asks why but before she can respond, the security robot makes itself known. Shiro creates a hole in the wall as a means to escape, revealing a ventilation duct that can take you to a lot of places. They manage to find refuge in the area with difficulty due to the tight space. Ganta thinks they’re safe, however, the security robot comes from behind, so the group have to continue fleeing. Ganta trips and is about to get attacked, but You saves him, commenting that he’s always had a bad habit with his hands after pulling the machine’s eye out. Ganta wonders why Shiro is acting so irritated at him. At last they appear in G Ward and Makina loses track of them on her computer, cursing Tamaki. The security robot leaps in front of Ganta and company and Ganta thinks that they’re all going to die, so he apologizes to You and Shiro for dragging them into this mess, which, of course, You agrees in his mind. Shiro gets more angry and kicks the robot while calling Ganta stupid. She tells him that even though Shiro ate his snack without telling him, she’s also his friend. A dazed You realizes that that is why she is mad. On the other hand, Ganta realizes that he’s made new friends. Suddenly, from behind the robot’s hand grabs Shiro around the waist. Ganta attempts to use his ability to save Shiro once more, but can’t seem to. However, the robot is cut in two due to the “red man” who now looks just like a normal man, and Shiro is saved from having a hole drilled through her head. The strange man welcomes Ganta.
Thoughts: LOL @ Shiro’s pouting! Dang, why is she so cuuute?! Haha, You can be funny too, espescially when he’s around Shiro – could this be love~~? Another great read. Deadman Wonderland continues to intrigue me more and more. The illustrations are gorgeous and the plot-line is becoming more and more interesting. Oh, the suspense the mangaka leaves at the end of each chapter! Now that we’ve seen him, the “red man” looks like a normal man, except he’s somewhat evil, lol, the look that Yagami Light aka Kira from Death Note usually gives. Wahh~~ Also, bad news, it looks like there won’t be any more of Deadman Wonderland after volume 2, I think, and then there’s going to be a 3 month wait? until the translators can resume scanlating this manga. NOOO!
