D.Gray-man – Chapter 146

Well, now I’m beginning to understand more and more of D.Gray-man after deciding to suddenly resume reading it from the latest chapter without any idea of what happened before.

Summary: Allen vomits and can’t even bear to look at the Level 4 Akuma, (he even starts crying) but finds his will to destroy it after Johnny begs him. Allen orders Bookman to go aid the others who are injured while the Akuma remembers that it’s purpose is to slaughter. Allen uses his Edge End attack on the monster but it manages to escape, appearing behind him. Saying that it’ll start with him, it clicks his finger and Allen is sent flying back against the wall, his Innocence no longer active. While Allen collapses to the floor, the Akuma remarks that it’s now time to slaughter.

Thoughts: A very nice chapter indeed, even though I have no idea whatsoever as to how the Bookman appeared. Well, I didn’t think the Akuma was THAT ugly, or perhaps it was something else that made Allen unable to look at it. I guess I’m missing out on all the fine details since I have yet to re-read D.Gray-man. The anime is so shitty compared to this so I won’t be blogging that any more. I’m getting more and more interested, and of course, I heard D.Gray-man Manga is really good. I wonder what happened to Lenalee and Lavi and the rest … did they die? Oh and just to let you know, I’m against all AllenxLenalee fans ‘cos one: she’s two years older (I think) and two: they’re too different to each other, well, in my opinion anyway. If anything, it should be LavixLenalee. However, going all nuts over the pairings is kinda pointless seeing as I don’t believe there will be any official couples in anime like D.Gray-man, Naruto Shippuuden or Bleach. Not that I can imagine anyway. I can’t see Sasuke and Sakura together, nor Ichigo with Rukia, or Allen and Lenalee. It’s fun to talk about, but I’m pretty sure that these couples are never gonna be made. Nice to think of, but I wouldn’t want it to really happen, you know?

Seeing Allen crying was pretty cute and it also showed us some of his personality. The Akuma is just weird with the whole “I have to slaughter” thing, but it’s pretty interesting if you wonder about what it thinks. I hope the others are still alive though. It was a touching scene when Johnny put his hand on Allen’s Innocence (very “gay” moment too, but cute), lol. The nicest picture would be seeing Allen on his knees crying while the Akuma walks up to him and asks if he’s in tears. I love D.Gray-man images, excluding the anime, of course, although they’re alright themselves. But each box has so much detail that it’s hard to get nice images. Sorry if the snapshots are pixelated, I couldn’t be bothered fixing them up, haha.

Note: Since I believe that D.Gray-man Manga has several interesting pictures, I’m gonna have a Scene of the Chapter thing so ya all can know which I thought was the coolest part of them all. This one’s this week’s chapter:

POOR ALLEN!

UPDATE: Now you can click on the images to view their original size! Isn’t that just amazing?!

  1. Ya, he couldn’t look at the akuma because the soul was so mutilated. If you look again he says, “The soul contained within…” So I think that the soul has become corrupted or is slowly rotting away or something. Anyway, I can’t wait until the next chapter comes out, I wanna know what happened to everyone.

  2. Yeah, if you’re a manga reader, the anime doesn’t live up to your expectations. I still watch it though cause I like Allen’s voice. But to those who haven’t read the manga, the anime is good enough.

Allen’s eye shows him the Akuma’s bound soul. It’s usually in pain and in despair cause it’s doing things it doesn’t want to on orders from the Earl. That’s probably why he vomited.

    Isn’t Hoshino’s art just… scrumptiouis!
