Bamboo Blade – 17

Even though it’s late, I decided “what the heck” and wrote a summary for this episode. I tried taking screenshots but for some reason it’s not working right now, so I’ll figure that out later. Hopefully it’ll work so I can upload some pictures ‘cos I thought there were some decent ones appearing in the episode. Red Tamaki is awesome by the way, but aiming for revenge isn’t good at all.

Summary: Konishi releases Tamaki from being locked up and after apolozing, Tamaki insists that they return to their match. They run through a short-cut and Tamaki trips over a tennis ball, hence wounding her ankle. As it turns out, Konishi had planned for this to happen. Back in the gym, Ishida and the team continue to worry of Tamaki’s whereabouts. With only five minutes left, Yuuji and Dan find Tamaki in the lockers room and Yuuji notices something strange about her. The matches begin with Satori first. However, due to her stomach ache, she can’t fight very well. This results in a draw with her opponent. Next is Miyako and she starts off nicely, but she sees Reimi cheering for her among the crowd and loses her concentration. This leads to a loss of Muroe High. The next match is Sayako’s and she wins with one point. After her is Kirino and she wins with two points, being more focused on her match than usual. Now it is finally Tamaki’s turn and Yuuji realizes that she has an injured ankle. Immediately he informs Ishida about this so the two watch her match anxiously. Instead of Konishi scaring Tamaki, it’s actually the reverse. Tamaki wins the match easily and ends it by using a thrust attack on her opponent. Everyone cheers and Tamaki returns to the group, only to see a grumpy-looking Ishida.

Thoughts: I loved Satori’s match the most because getting stomach pains happens a lot, and sometimes even, during important moments like a kendo match or exam. I love the “momentary peace” moments that occur, lol, and Satori’s imagination of those times were so true. Satori is begining to grow on me ‘cos she’s so adorable and has lots of those “white-eyes” expressions. Didn’t get to see any Kirino plus Sayako antics, but Tamaki’s match made up for it. Like, a shorty like her actually scared Konishi and made her worry. But you can’t always win with the intent of getting revenge. The next episode looks like it’s going to explain all of that and I think Tamaki gets lectures from her father and Ishida. Yuuji notices a lot about Tamaki so I’m wondering how close they really are. Maybe it’s their relationship that worries the father so much to make him even stalk Tamaki to the training camp. As always, looking forward to next week.

Note: Is it just me or are the pictures getting really weird? We also got to see lil Tamaki which I though was very kawaii.
